Countdown

Head down - yup.
Sleep interupted - yup.
Tired on the stairs - yup.
Difficulty crossing my legs - yup.
12 days till the 'official' date, we are looking forward to our new addition, getting more and more anxious to meet her. And I am looking forward to getting my waist back and closing up shop. What milestones!

From the Archives

Well, another night up in the middle. This is becoming a little bit of a habit - for all of us here - ironically except for Diego who generally is sleeping better. I wonder sometimes if it is nature's way of preparing you for more sleepless nights to come....

The good think is that I have all our latest pictures uploaded and edited so I thought I would give you a taste of some of what you've been missing. These pics go right back to January.

Besides Diego's birthday party January seemed to be mostly about snow. We got a lot of snow.

In February we had some nice play dates including one with our friend Isla. And.. we also got these FANTASTIC "strong man" pictures.

March was Noella's birthday and some great puddle jumping in Arden. (Does anyone know how to change the orientation of these pictures? I tried changing the original file but that didn't work either....?) Padme's Waka and Kai came to visit Arden the same day we did and the game of "Ironman" was very heated...

Now it's April and it's all about getting through the end of the pregnancy. We don't have any good belly shots yet.... have to get on that.

Me, I've had some crackers - taken care of something that was on my 'to do' list for a while and had a nice distracting hour playing with photos. Let's hope it's enough to put the insomniac back to bed. I'll let you know.

A new  Sunday tradition. I have found that my mother's pancake recipe works nicely with the gluten free flour we buy at Bulk Barn. This has made pancakes a fast and fun option again. I've also switched churches for one with a big Sunday School. This means a later start and fewer responsibilities. (I mean, besides getting two kids to church.) Plus, Diego loves to help. I made him an apron this week covered in skull heads (a fabric land remnants score!) and he's all over helping in the kitchen. Truth be told it's easier to work without him there but I think of the 16 year old named Diego that will one day live in this house and feel like I am making a good investment in time.

Generally, we have been enjoying the quiet before the storm.

The change table is all set up in our room (last time I made a beautiful baby's room that never got used and we're trying to keep our guest room as long as possible) and yesterday I rigged up an archway over the play pen (PVC piping from Rona with some wood clips and covered in left over flannel from an old quilt project). I have 24 new tiny cloth diapers ready to go. Some I made myself and 12 bought from this great supplier of all things diapering (Asunta store)- she ships directly from China so things are cheaper and all the proceeds go to support a Chinese orphanage. It's win, win. I've got the two strollers adjusted so that they can hold the car seat with straps and clips to hold it in place. The car seat base is in the car. We've got a Hitch Hiker for Diego (which he loves as I told him it was a skate board) so we're as ready as we can be. Now, I'm just playing. I'm making a quilt, which is totally unneeded but will be well loved by me at least, and sorting out an extra set of sheets.

My last day of work will be the 10th of May (also my due date) and I'll go to the end if I can. Diego is still in full time day-care till the end of June so I'd just be here by myself trying to make up projects for myself. We really don't need another dishwasher. Three weeks to go.
