Two Months

Feb 16 2009

Dear Diego – you are two months old. We have certainly learned a lot in the last two months. I have learned what your different cries mean and to anticipate some of your needs. You have learned two distinct sounds, agooo and a clicking noise that you make with your tongue. Your father and I have had some great conversations with you using only these two words. You have discovered your hands and are grabbing at your favourite toys. I have cut my hair short. You have grown out of a surprising amount of clothing. Yesterday we were looking at the pictures of your birth and are so surprised by how big you’ve become. Right now you are having a nap in your crib – which is a very new skill for you. You don’t last very long there on your own but I know you will learn. You are seeing much more and recognizing the people who are close to you. You are smiling, a wonderful , open mouthed smile that lights up your whole face. This last month we have enjoyed visiting with your Abuela Campos. You have spent hours sleeping in her arms. You know, she can sit for two hours straight and watch you sleep. That is true love. This month we are hoping that you will begin to sleep more at night. You’re not very good at that right now. Still, that is our only complaint and that makes you almost perfect and let’s face it kid, nobody’s perfect; a good lesson for this month.

P.S. You are wearing my favourite outfit today and it is going to be the last day that it fits you. We are pretty sure you are going to be bigger than your father. Go easy on him OK?
